Field judge guide

← All guides

The judge's screen is the score sheet. This guide is what you need to know before the first squad steps up.

There are two ways, depending on who you are:

  • Field judge — club code, your username and your password. It is a scoring-only access, made for the phone.
  • Club manager — signs in with the usual account; whoever organises can also score, with no separate registration.
If the match does not show up for you, it is because you have not been linked to it yet. Ask the club — it is one click on the match judges screen.

The scoring screen

You pick the round and the squad, and land on the grid. Each shooter is a line, each clay is a box. Every clay starts as O (miss) — you only tap the hits, and they turn into X.

Starting everything as a miss is deliberate: in practice you tap less, and a forgotten clay stays a miss, never a hit nobody checked.

One station at a time on the phone

On the phone the screen shows one station at a time, with the five shooters of the squad visible at once — you score the whole station without scrolling in the middle of the series. The bottom bar switches stations and uses colours to place you:

  • Green — station complete, every shooter marked.
  • Yellow — started and still missing a clay.
  • Red — left behind with no marks at all.

The "All" button shows the whole round, to check it in one go. On tablets and computers everything is already shown together.

No signal? You can score just the same

The shooting field usually has poor coverage, and the screen was built for that.

  1. Every tap is saved on the device itself right away, before any attempt to send it.
  2. Sending happens on its own, in the background. If it fails, it tries again at growing intervals — no alert, no interruption.
  3. When the network comes back (or you return to the screen), whatever was pending goes up immediately.
  4. If you close the screen with something still unsent, the browser warns you first.
  5. Reloaded the page or the phone froze? Open the same round again: what was marked comes back.
A discreet indicator in the footer says how many marks have not gone up yet. And the Review and sign button only opens when nothing is pending: signing is declaring that the system has exactly what is on your screen.

Warning

The warning button sits next to the shooter's strip (on the phone it is just the alert icon). You pick the type — safety, conduct, delay, equipment or other —, the station where it happened and write the reason.

The warning does not change the scoreboard: it is a disciplinary record and it stays with the signed result, just like on the paper sheet.

Closing the round

  1. Complete the strip of every shooter in the squad.
  2. Tap "Review and sign": the summary appears, one shooter per line, with each total.
  3. Call each athlete to check their own line and enter their PIN.
  4. With everyone confirmed, you sign and close the round.

If a clay is missing, someone's PIN is missing or a station has no acceptance (in matches that use station-by-station acceptance), the system says exactly who is pending and closes nothing halfway.

After closing

The two things that actually happen next in the field show up:

  • Next round — the same squad, on the next round.
  • Next squad — the same round, with the next group.

Details that help on the day

  • A wrong PIN clears the field on its own — just type it again, no deleting digit by digit.
  • Too many wrong attempts lock the PIN for a few moments. That is protection; wait a bit and try again.
  • Copy and paste is blocked on the grid: in the field that only happens by accident.
  • If another judge is on the same shooter at the same time, the system warns you — two people scoring the same athlete is a recipe for a wrong result.
  • Marked something wrong before signing? Just tap again: the X goes back to O.
  • Once signed, the round only becomes editable again if the club reopens it, stating the reason.
