Help — precision shooting
How to use Orbit Precision
Practical guides for precision shooting Matches. Pick your area:
Is this your first Match here? Start with the
glossary — it explains series, target, ring, X and
relay in two lines each. If something has already gone wrong, go straight to
questions and problems.
The idea in one paragraph
The judge's screen is the scoresheet as always: one row per target, one column per ring. The judge taps the ring of each shot, the athlete checks their own series and signs with a PIN — when the Match asks for one — and the judge signs the series. From then on the result is signed and the scoreboard updates on its own: nobody types anything again afterwards.
How a match day happens
- The club creates the Match, picks the modalities it is going to offer, sets up series and relays and opens registration.
- The athlete registers through the link — one registration for each modality they are going to shoot — and picks the relay.
- The judge scores target by target on the phone, one athlete per screen, with the rings at hand.
- At the end of the series each athlete checks their scorecard and signs with the PIN, if the Match requires it; the judge signs and the series becomes a result.
- The scoreboard adds up the signed series and shows on the public screen, if the club publishes it.
What this module guarantees
- The maths is always the server's. The judge's device sends the shots per ring; the points, the X count and the ranking are worked out here — there is no way for a total to arrive "ready-made" from outside.
- A result only exists once it is signed. While the series is not signed, what is on the screen is a draft and does not count on the scoreboard.
- A closed Match does not change. The structure freezes and the published result is still the same a year from now.
- Every change is recorded — who changed what and when — including those made through the integration.
It works without signal too. The judge's screen keeps
the marks on the device itself and sends them when the network comes back.
Close the Match only after the bottom bar shows that nothing is pending.
