Help — precision shooting
Club and front desk guide
From nothing to a published Match. Each step below is a screen in the system, in the order in which you will use them.
Before the first Match: turning the module on
In Settings → Club details there is a switch for Precision Shooting. Turned on, the module shows up in the menu and on the dashboard. Only the club owner or a manager sees this switch; whoever has read access sees the screens, but not the buttons that change anything.
1. Set up the club modalities
A modality, here, is the course of fire: how many targets per series, how many shots on each target, how many series and the times. In Precision → Modalities you can adopt a ready-made preset (SCTSL/CBTT) or create your own from scratch.
2. Creating the Match
The Match starts as a draft and already usable: Series 1, Relay 1 and the public address are created along with it. All you have to say is the name, the date and which modalities this Match offers.
- Pick the Match modalities. They are what the ranking uses to separate the athletes — whoever shoots rifle does not compete against whoever shoots PCP.
- Adjust series and relays. A series is the round (how many times each athlete shoots the course of fire); a relay is the bench: who shoots together and at what time.
- Pick the tie-break rule and whether the Match will require the athlete PIN on signing.
- Assign the judges who are going to score. You and the other managers are assigned automatically.
- To reuse the structure on a new date, use Clone match. The copy starts as a draft, without scores and with public registration off.
3. Registering the athletes
Two ways, and they mix without any trouble: the match office registers from the Match screen, and the public link lets athletes register themselves.
- From the office: start typing the email and the club roster fills in the rest. You can also import a CSV (ATLETA, EMAIL, MODALIDADE) — the modality must already exist in the match.
- From the public link: turn "Public registration" on for the Match and share the address. The Match has to be in Open status, and the deadline, if you set one, closes the link on its own.
- One registration per modality. An athlete who is going to shoot two modalities is entered twice — that is how the ranking can rank them in both.
Each registration can go to a relay. The relay has a slot limit, and the system does not let you go past it, not even through the integration.
4. During the Match
- Leave the Match in Open or In progress — that is what opens up scoring out in the field.
- Follow along on the relay validation screen: it shows what is already done, what is pending and what has not even started.
- You can score too: in Match → Enter results, the manager comes in as a judge and uses the same screen as the field.
5. Publishing the result
The Match has three independent switches, and each one opens a different public address:
- Public registration — the form for the athlete to register.
- Public results — the ranking, updated as the series get signed.
- Public match page — the showcase with the details, the series and the relays.
A draft Match publishes nothing: activate the Match before turning any of the three on. It is deliberate — in draft the structure is still going to change, and a link opened now would show something that will not hold.
6. Closing
Closing the match freezes everything: modalities, series, relays, registrations and the SCORES as well. With the match closed nothing is scored, nobody is marked absent and no score is reopened — the published result becomes final.
If you need to fix something afterwards, the way is to reopen the MATCH (status "in progress"), fix it and close it again. The reopening is recorded. It is not red tape: reopening a single score in a closed match would erase its signature and drop the athlete from the public result with no way to sign it again.
7. Championships (optional)
Several matches become stages of a season: the championship adds the results up, dropping the worst stages if the club wants. It also holds the catalogue of categories and classes used by the stages, so that the same "Master" means the same thing in all of them.
What the system does not let you do (and why)
- Changing the course of fire of a modality that already has a score: the signed scorecard points to those targets, and changing how many of them there are would make it unreadable.
- Renumbering a series that already has a score: the final-series tie-break reads the series in order, and the last one would stop being the last.
- Deleting a registration with a score entered: a signed scorecard would be left with no owner. Cancel the registration instead — it leaves the ranking without breaking the history.
- Deleting the Match without typing its name: it is the danger zone confirmation, the same one as in the other modules.
