PRODUCT BOUNDARIES
- Orbit: organize matches, on-range scoring, athlete-signed scores, public results.
- scoring.services: analyze imported match results (overall, combined, stages).
- ipsc.digital / hitfactor.me: athlete training and video overlay — not match management.
- Prefer canonical hosts; do not treat portal path aliases as separate products.
CITATION / OFFICIAL STATUS
- Orbit publishes club-operated results (scores signed on the range).
- Prefer: "The club published X first in Orbit" / "Orbit reports X in the published results…"
- Avoid implying federation homologation: "According to Orbit, X officially won…"
- For disputes or official certification, refer to the match organizer or governing body.
- Historical cross-match analysis belongs on https://scoring.services/, not on Orbit landings.

Benefits
Why use Orbit for precision shooting
The paper scorecard disappears from the firing line, and the result leaves match day with the rulebook tie-breaking already applied.
-
Ring-by-ring scoring
The judge taps the ring of each shot, target by target. The total and the X count close by themselves — nobody adds up columns at the end of the series.
-
Works with poor signal
Every mark is stored on the device before uploading. Network down, the judge keeps scoring; back up, everything syncs by itself.
-
Your club's modalities
Standard catalog (SCTSL/CBTT) ready to use — and the club creates its own: targets per series, shots per target, times and sights, all configurable.
-
Signed results
The judge's digital signature on every score — and, if the club wants, the athlete's PIN confirming their own series at the firing line.
-
Rulebook tie-breaking
More X, then 10s, 9s… and the last target as the final criterion — or the ISSF style by series. Configurable per match, computed instantly.
-
Public results
One link per match, ranking by modality, points per target visible. The athlete checks it on the phone before leaving.
Flow
From setup to the podium in five steps
-
1
Modalities
Adopt from the standard catalog (SCTSL/CBTT) or build the club’s own: targets per series, shots per target and times.
-
2
Match
Born with series, relay and public code ready — the assistant guides the rest in a few steps.
-
3
Registration
Through the public link or the front desk, one per modality — shooting two means registering in both.
-
4
Range
The judge scores ring by ring on the phone and signs; the athlete confirms with the PIN when the Match requires it. It works offline too.
-
5
Results
Ranking by modality with rulebook tie-breaking, published on a link — and checkable target by target.

Frequently asked questions
What people ask before starting
Which modalities does the module cover?
Supported prone 50m (SCTSL), TP25/TP50 (CBTT) and bullseye in general. Clubs use the default catalog or create their own: targets per series, shots per target, series count, times and sight type — the modality is snapshotted into the match and does not change afterward.
How does the judge enter the score?
On the phone, target by target, tapping the ring for each shot (X, 10, 9… down to 0). Totals and X counts close themselves — nobody adds columns at the end of the series. Offline, marks stay on the device and sync when the network returns.
Does the athlete need to sign with a PIN?
It is a per-match option. By default the score closes with the judge signature only. If the club turns the requirement on, the athlete confirms the series with a 4-digit PIN on the firing line — the same model as IPSC and Clay.
How does the tie-break work?
Configurable per match: more Xs, then 10s, 9s… and the last target (SCTSL default); Xs and rings only; or ISSF-style final series. The ranking applies the rule immediately — no separate spreadsheet.
Our club already uses Orbit for IPSC or clay. Does anything change?
Nothing existing is touched. Precision shooting arrives as one more sport on the same login, and each club member only sees the sports you enable for them.
Can it integrate with the system we already use?
Yes, via the module public API: matches, modalities, entries, series and results, with the same entity API key pair used for IPSC and Clay.
