Benefits

Why use Orbit

Less paper on the range, clearer for the athlete, publishing under club control.

How it works

From setup to results

One continuous flow: from the registration invite to the published ranking.

  1. Registration The club opens the link; the athlete picks division, squad and equipment.
  2. Range The RO posts scores with a PIN; RM/Stats monitor and handle exceptions.
  3. Confirmation The athlete reviews the score; edits or reshoot only with authorization.
  4. Publication Hub, schedule and results become available to the public.

A complete system, not a spreadsheet with a login

Every stage of the match has a screen built for it — and a feature that solves the real problem for whoever runs the field.

General

What is Orbit?

The platform to run IPSC matches end to end: online registration, range-day operations (equipment check and scoring), live tracking, and public schedules and results.

Who is it for?

For clubs that build the match; for athletes who register and confirm scores; and for ROs and officials working on the range on match day.

How do I get started?

Athlete: create an account and open available matches. Club: register the club and follow Help. When unsure, use Help → your role guide.

Does Orbit replace PractiScore, WinMSS or ESS?

Orbit is a complete IPSC match management system: online registration, field operation and results publishing, on top of scoring. It can be used as a free alternative to these tools or alongside the scoring software your club already uses. See the full comparison on the alternatives page.

Can I broadcast the match live?

Yes. Orbit generates a scoreboard overlay for OBS, Prism and any streaming software that takes a browser source: paste the stage URL and the scores go on air by themselves, with a leaderboard, a per-division top bar and the athlete HUD. There is also a TV kiosk for the club big screen.

Athlete

How does an athlete register?

Create an account (or sign in with SSO), open the match link from the club, choose division and squad, confirm equipment, and set a 4-digit PIN. Then keep the receipt in the portal.

Can I register in more than one division?

Yes, while registration is open and another division is available. In the portal you will see “New registration” for the same match—no separate link needed.

Can the athlete file an appeal?

Yes. In the registration portal the athlete opens an appeal (score, DQ, stage, etc.), tracks its status, and sees the response. If the match enables publishing, the hub shows only decided appeals (upheld or denied) with the decision text.

Where do I see schedules and results?

In the public Matches list, or via links the club shares: hub (schedule) and results page. Season championships can also have their own page when the club publishes them.

Club

What does the club need to do?

Register the club, set up the match (divisions, stages, squads, ROs), open registration, run match day, and publish the hub and results when you want schedules and standings public.

Do I need someone operating the scoreboard during the broadcast?

No. The RO feeds the broadcast: every score approved in the field shows up on the overlay in seconds. The production only switches scenes when it wants to — full broadcast, HUD only, break or warm-up — without reloading the browser source.

Does Orbit integrate with the club's management system?

Yes. The public REST API lets you manage matches and registrations and read results in JSON; file-based, registrations come in via CSV and results go out in WinMSS format. We are open to integrating with club management systems — talk to us via WhatsApp or email through the contact page.

Can the overlay put a wrong score on air?

Only scores approved and confirmed with the athlete PIN go on air; drafts never do. The one exception is optional and off by default: showing the HUD as soon as the RO opens the athlete on the stage — there the data is still preliminary and is flagged as "Partial" until it is approved.

Range

What happens on match day?

The RO does the equipment check (if required), marks attendance, enters the score with the athlete PIN, and may request DQ or DNF. Officials (RM / Stats / CRO) track progress, authorize corrections or reshoots, and decide appeals.
